Please note that due to recent changes in Federal Banking Law, if you are new to the Bank of Greene County, you will be required to complete and submit a personal profile form in order for the bank to accept your cash payment. Property Tax Collection
The City of Hudson's fiscal year is January 1 to December 31. The City issues a single property tax bill for the year on January 1, which includes both City and County property taxes. Quarterly payments are due as follows:

Relevied unpaid sewer bills if applicable

|4th Quarter||September 15||City Taxes|
Penalties for late payments are 1% per month. Postmarks are accepted.
Short-term Rental Operator Residency Requirements
As of December 2020, opertators of short-term lodging are required to be a resident of the city of Hudson and may operate up to three (3) short-term rental units, all three units to be located on the same parcel on which the resident resides. (See Section 325-28.3 for other details including partial residency and the grandfathering of existing non-compliant rental units.) All applicants for a Certificate of Authority must include an executed and notarized Affidavit of Residency.
Lodging Tax Registration
As of July 2020, the annual application fee is $100 per address plus $25 per room offered for short-term lodging.
The annual registration form and fee is due between March 1 and March 31 of each year. Registration is ANNUAL. You must register even if you are not required to collect and remit the lodging tax. Registration fees for first time registrants will be prorated.
Annual registration and quarterly payment of lodging tax are are accepted via our online partner. You may pay via echeck at no charge or by credit card for a convenience fee based on a percentage of the total amount paid.
Lodging Tax returns are filed quarterly and follow the same schedule as NYS sales tax filings:

You will be required to supply supporting documentation such as:
- NYS Sales Tax Filing for the same period, or
- Sales reports supplied by third party booking services (ie AIRbnb, VRBO etc) for the filing period, or
- Copy of a manual ledger
Penalties for late payments are 5% of the amount of tax due, plus 1% interest for each subsequent month.

Our external service provider offers online property tax payment by credit card for a convenience fee based on a percentage of the total amount paid, as well as payment by e-check for a flat convenience fee. Just ckick on the Xpress-pay it link!
Please note that installment agreements are not available for online payment and must be paid by cash or check, in person or by mail.
